Bombshell Burlesque Academy Term 4
We have just opened enrollments for our last term of 2010!
Term 4 is absolutely HUGE!! We have a bevy of exciting new classes, teachers and workshop options for you and are now running burlesque and beauty over both Mondays and Wednesdays so no one has to miss out!

~Monday Night~
6-7pm - Go-Go Class
with Miss Burlesque Brisbane Amelie Lulu
Work up a sweat with this fun burlesque Go-Go class! We will be learning all the classic 60's moves such as the Watusi and the Twist, and combining them into a short shimmy shakin' routine to take to your next party! Suited for all levels and experience, this class is the perfect rock and roll workout for those who love to dance!
*Go-Go students will be given the opportunity to perform Go-Go at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: Water, towel and dress comfortably.
7-8pm – Hula Hoops
with Sideshow Superstar Tigerlil
Learn the art of hoochie coochie hoola hooping with Tigerlil! Suitable for those wishing to build on their existing skills or absolute beginners. Hooping is fun and a fabulous way to get fit....and you learn some cool tricks too! The class will cover single hoop manipulation, body hoola, multiple hoop work and sequences.
*Hoop students will be given the opportunity to perform at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: Water, Towel, tight fitting clothing and a hoop if you have one otherwise one will be provided.
7-8pm – 50’s Finishing School
with Pinup Queen Kat Fink
Finishing School!! Learn how to create a full 50’s look over 6 fun classes! You will be taught how to create a number of 50’s Hair and Makeup Styles along with 50’s Pin Up Posing and walking. The class will also cover 50’s fashion and how to find and look after vintage goodies in Brisbane! You will be shown how to How to value vintage dresses, furniture and lingerie.
*Finishing School Students will be given the opportunity to take part in a 50’s fashion parade at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: Pen and Paper, all your makeup, brushes, combs, hairspray, bobby pins and sponges.
8-9pm – Barbie Shop Choir
with singing sensation Kat Fink
Join the first doo-wop Barber Shop style choir in Brisbane! The class will specialize in 1940s-style close harmony vocal music, learning songs from artists such as The Puppini Sisters, The Andrew Sisters as well as modern pop songs turned old skool. You will be taught breathing techniques and how to adapt to singing in a group!
*Choir students will be given the opportunity to take part in a singing performance at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring:Water and folder for sheet music if you have one.
~Wednesday Night~
6-7pm - Costume Creations Class
with international teaseur Bella de Jac!
Expert burlesque entertainer and costume creator Bella de Jac has just joined us in Brisbane from the UK and has a bevy of exciting skills to share! In this class you will plan your costume and make pasties, accessories, bedazzle gloves, decorate underwear and make your own fascinator! She will show you how to use what you make as well! Including tassel twirling and glove peels. Bella will help bring your costume dreams to life!
*Costume students will be given the opportunity to take part in a burlesque fashion parade at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: A pen and paper to the first class where you will be advised on what you need over the weeks. You will bedazzle your own gloves, underwear etc in the class.
7-8pm – Vintage Hair and Makeup
with Deputy Princess Kat Fink and Friends.
Learn the basics of 40's and 50' Hair and makeup. Re- creating elegant vintage styles for occasions and everyday wear for the modern woman. We will be covering styles such as Victory Rolls and Up do's. Also how to apply eyelashes and 2 vintage makeup styles. This is for absolute beginners and if you have never worn makeup before that’s fine! We teach you all there is to know and what to buy.
*Hair and Makeup students will be given the opportunity to take part in a vintage fashion parade at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: Pen and Paper, All your makeup, brushes, combs, hairspray, bobby pins and sponges.
7-8pm- Dance of the 7 Veils
with Burlesque Bombshell La Viola Vixen
Dance of the 7 Veils Shimmy Shake! A harem style burlesque routine inspired by the classic Dance of the 7 veils, One of the most infamous exotic burlesque routines even performed by the likes of Bettie Paige! We will be learning belly dance movement such as snake arms, figure 8s with your hips and shimmies. The class will cover what can be done with a beautiful veil. This class is great for fitness, isolation and rhythm.
*Veil students will be given the opportunity to perform their routine at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: Water, towel and dress ups are provided!
8-9pm – Chairtease - The class I will be attending
with Headmistress La Viola Vixen
Striptease Class with chairs! Chairs are the most classic and versatile prop in the industry and they certainly have more options than meet the eye! We will learn how to spin, twirl, balance and swivel on your throne. The class will also cover striptease techniques including gloves, dress, stockings, corset, heels and bras! While no actually nudity is required in the class Viola will give you all the strip skills you need for hot burlesque performance or your own private use . Dress ups encouraged in this class!
*Chairtease students will be given the opportunity to perform their routine at the Bombshells end of term Gala!
Bring: Ideally - Gloves, Dress, Corset Bra, Stockings, Heels and Bra - There will be supplies available in class so don't fret if you don't have these things in your wardrobe. Water and a towel.
~Classes with Lola the Vamp~
Mondays 6-7pm - Headliners Class
with Burlesque Celebrity with Lola the Vamp
Cost - $150 for 6 weeks – This class is limited to 5 girls . Prepaid only.
Learn how to devise an act aimed to headline the burlesque circuit from an international Tease-o-rama headliner! Develop a show from music to costume to choreography to theme to story. The supportive and constructive class environment (capped at 5) will bring out your inner superstar. Lola promises lots of giggles and fun as well as serious sensuality and polish! Lola will workshop the classic moves of burlesque as taught to her by legends of the 40s New Orleans Bourbon Street stage, as well as contemporary legends such as Dita Von Teese, Catherine D'Lish, Dirty Martini and Julie Atlas Muz.
*Headliner students will be given the opportunity to perform their routine at the Bombshells end of term Gala!

~1-on-1 Choreography Class
with Australia's premier Showgirl Lola the Vamp
Mondays 7-9pm.
Wednesdays from 6pm, 7pm or 8pm
Cost - $100 for a 2 hour block – This class is prepaid only and limited to one person per class.
Do you have an act ready to be choreographed? Bring in your music, any costumes you already have and ideas. This class is designed for those with an idea they want to bring to fruition. Lola will map out the entire choreography and work with you on styling and presentation. A must if you want to take your act to the next level!
*1-on-1 students will be given the opportunity to perform their routine at the Bombshells end of term Gala!

An Art Exhibition with a twist. Works that vary between traditional nudes and vaudeville themed Brisbane performers. Art work by Loni Mills, Priscilla Gibbs, Nick O'Shea, Alice Gittins, Andrew Coulthard-Clark and more.
The night kicks off on Friday at 6.30pm at the Kuilpa Hall, which is at 174 Boundary Street in West End. Located next door to the West End Library. For one night only....
